Powderhorn in San Antonio. I generally deal with the owner David Day. One of the best and friendliest guys in town. I've also dealt with the Dury family over the years and still see the boys occasionally. David Dury is one of the best gunsmiths in this part of Texas and that's where I take any custom work or repairs. Hard to beat their lifetime warranty and I've never had them question anything. If it ain't right, they don't want you to have it.

3rd on Powderhorn!!!!!  Been going there since '77 - back when Bob Day was still alive and runnin' it.  GREAT guy, and David is as well!

Dury's has been hit and miss for me, but they usually have a pretty good selection, and the BS level seems to be pretty low.

Got one to add, here.....

Nagle's
6201 San Pedro Ave
San Antonio, TX 78216
(210) 342-5420

Known Bob Nagle since I was a kid - his Dad and my grandparents used to hang around, along with old man Toepperwein.  If you're claustrophobic, you will get antsy in his place, but they HAVE cleared the aisles a bit.  Started in 1942, it's likely one of the oldest gun shops still around.  If you've never been there, you owe it to yourself to stop in - especially in their used gun area.  And yes - he WILL do a little dealing.....

Best shop by far is

Aransas Firearms LLC
3215 Hwy 35N
POB 1830
Fulton, Texas 78358
Phone (361) 729-6556
www.aransasfirearms.com

Their bread and butter is their 6 lane indoor range but they get some great deals on guns in and take some oddballs in on consignment frequently. It's owned by our own Henry Bowman and is the only place around that has the community is family mindset. If you're in the area I 100% highly recommend checking them out, they always have coffee and will not belittle you for asking questions.
