FINGERPRINT ISSUE FOR CHL
« on: September 08, 2017, 11:37:22 AM »
Need help please. My wife has problems getting "acceptable" fingerprints for official documents -i.e. Global Entry - PassPort and now her renewal for her CHL through the vendors selected by the Texas Dept of Pub Safety. Anyone have an alternate suggestion or solution? Thank you.

Sorry to be late to respond, but generally speaking, try moistening the area to be printed with hand lotion or even some water, leaving the skin just barely moist.  That's worked for me.

Already went the vendor route - looked like every shot/photo submitted was a "failure" per the computer screen.
I was wondering if they would take an old fashion ink - paper print but I guess we'll see. Had same difficulty with Global Entry - multiple tries with "vendors" who get paid to try - not results.

If they were refused, I would contact company who supplied photos and expect them to submit one until it is accepted.

Most PD's will do the prints for you, from my personal experience.

Wonder if Austin will take ink and paper prints?

Initially, they wouldn't.  However, there were a number of complaints re. the folks they had set up to do the digital prints with, and IIRC, they did modify things a bit.  I'd contact DPS and ask them for guidance.  In my experience, they've always been pretty helpful.
