Morning,

Been quite awhile since i visited.  Since moving to DFW, we have bought a small 5 acre farm/house.  Have a pair of Palomino horses, 25 odd chickens, 2 huge geese, and 3 ducks.  Newest addition is 5 guinea hens which are the loudest dang birds.  Also expecting our first child in June, so I've been busy!!!  Will be back on here regularly as much as possible. Been missing out on the shooting sports for sure.

General Discussion / Bringing home a heritage gun from a friend.

Got a call from the widow of a dear friend that was murdered on the Rio Grande River (and his family's ranch) back in 1990.  A long story short, he was carrying a Norinco AK underfolder in 5.56 the day he was killed.  His wife had promised to let me know if/when she ever decided to sell it.  Well, she was ready to let it go....and I bought it.  It's now residing in one of my safes, where it will get a note about its' history, and will eventually be passed down.  I'm sure at some point I'll shoot it again - but for now, I just can't bring myself to do so.

Yeah been retired since 2002 and it seems I have been doing more work than when employed. lol
The wife and her obsession with redoing the yard to have less maintenance over all has been a long haul.

Well, between the old side business that I stepped up, the gun shop and my TSRA stuff....I need a job so I can relax!  O:h

Here is why we cant shoot on less than 10 acres in Comal County,

http://www.co.comal.tx.us/Public_Notices/Regulating_Firearms_Subdivision.pdf

And here is why we cant hunt with archery equipment on less than 10 acres (though target shooting is not mentioned)

http://www.co.comal.tx.us/Public_Notices/Regulating_Bowhunting_Subdivision.pdf

Neither of these rulings seem to have a bearing on Comal airgun hunting. And it land area requirements dont seem to be mentioned in the state guidelines here.
https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/hunting/air-gun-arrow-gun-regulations

So unless there is new ruling that I cant find in the county database, we here in Comal County, (and barring city ordinances, not an issue for me as i am in an unincorporated area of the county) should be good to go for backyard deer action this season right?
