Right? I should have just sprung for the FLIR. You can't take it with you ya know...

But I should be able to build the remote light with spare parts from the barn,  andOnly thing I need is some powerful IR LEDs which shouldn't cost more than 10 bucks. And maybe 3 bucks for one of my sons old remote control cars. (He will ask for more but i can negotiate him down to a quart of chocolate milk and a licorice stick)

The idea is i go out and set it up down range and control it with a remote. Would probably work great for feeder illumination. I've noticed that the if the IR is behind the muzzle it reflects off the smoke cloud of the first shot and washes out the picture. The idea is to minimize that effect and get better performance from the budget tier night optic.

Working up a DIY infrared long range illumination kit to go with it. Basically an IT floodlights with an old camera tripod and a pack of 18650 batteries wired up with a remote control.

How ya gonna tie it to the rifle???
